Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and Shotline for your use of shotline.in, the Shotline editor and its API (together, "Shotline"). By creating an account or using Shotline you agree to them. If you use Shotline for an organisation, you agree on its behalf.
1. Your account
- Give accurate information, keep your password and API keys secret, and tell us at once about any unauthorised use. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- One person per account. Don't share accounts or resell access without our written permission.
2. Plans, limits and payment
- Shotline has a free plan and paid plans. Each plan has monthly limits (for example render minutes, storage, transcription minutes, AI messages and Cue Director runs), shown in the app. Limits reset each month and unused amounts don't carry over.
- Paid plans are billed in advance through our payment provider and renew until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Payments aren't refundable except where the law requires it or we say otherwise in writing.
- We may change plans, limits or prices. Changes to a paid plan you're on will be announced in advance and apply from your next billing period.
3. Your content
- You own what you upload and create in Shotline. We don't claim ownership of your videos, audio, images or projects.
- You give Shotline a limited permission to store, process, copy and display your content only as needed to run Shotline for you: for example to edit and render your videos, make captions, analyse footage for AI features, and send files to the providers listed in our Privacy Policy. This permission ends when you delete the content, except for copies in rolling backups.
- You're responsible for your content and must have all the rights needed to use it, including music, footage, likenesses and voices of other people.
4. AI features
- Shotline's AI features (Cue, Cue Director, captions, AI Reframe, voiceovers, voices, dubbing, and generated images, music and sound effects) can be wrong or unsuitable. Review results before you publish them. You decide what goes into your videos.
- Between you and Shotline, you own the outputs made for you, as far as the law allows. Similar outputs may be made for other users.
- Don't use AI features to make content that deceives people about who said or did something, including voice clones or deepfakes of real people without their consent. Only make a voice from your own voice or one you have clear permission to use.
5. Stock media and third-party content
Stock photos and videos (from Pixabay), GIFs and stickers (from GIPHY) and animations (from LottieFiles) are provided under their owners' licences and terms, which you must follow. Some content may have extra restrictions, for example on trademarks, logos or recognisable people.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use Shotline to:
- Break the law or anyone's rights, including copyright, trademark, privacy and publicity rights.
- Make or share sexual content involving minors, non-consensual intimate content, content that promotes violence or terrorism, or hateful harassment of people.
- Impersonate others, mislead people with fake media of real people, or run scams or spam.
- Upload malware, probe or break our security, or interfere with Shotline or other users.
- Scrape Shotline, get around plan limits or rate limits, or use automated access other than our API.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules, and report illegal content to the authorities.
7. The API
If you use the Shotline API, keep your API keys secret, follow the documented rate limits and these terms, and don't use the API to build a service that copies Shotline. Usage through the API counts towards your plan's limits.
8. Changes and availability
We're always improving Shotline, so features may change, be added or be removed. We aim to keep Shotline available but don't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep your own copies of important files.
9. Ending your account
You can stop using Shotline and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put Shotline or its users at risk; where reasonable we'll tell you first. After an account is closed, its content is deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers
Shotline is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability and non-infringement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Shotline won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to Shotline is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or INR 1,000 if you haven't paid us. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
12. Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against Shotline because of your content or your breach of these terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and losses that result, to the extent the law allows.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be handled by the courts of India, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for important changes we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Shotline after that, you accept the new terms.
